The Medal of Honor Series was born thirteen years ago and this year it returns as ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’, EA’s most advanced, ambitious & realistic first person shooter ever. This time round developers have taken the Tier 1 task force global including operatives from right around the globe including Australia the SASR. Warfighter continues the story from the 2010 Medal of Honor game keeping the focus on key characters including Preacher, Mother, Voodoo and more.

“It’s our goal to put you directly in the boots of the soldier whether it be in World War II or today’s war. Every detail from the sound of the weapons to the landscapes of actual locations inspire the complete Medal of Honor experience. For the first time in Medal of Honor, we’re consulting closely with not only Tier 1 Operators from the U.S. but also Tier 1 Operators from around the globe including the Polish GROM, the Australian SASR, the German KSK and more.”

On a few occasions we’ve been lucky enough to get some hands on time with the games multiplayer. First off we have to mention how amazing and detailed the graphics are, they show a great amount of detail in the surrounding environments and the variety of different maps are great, each has its own unique feel. One new feature we thought was really cool was the ‘Fireteam Buddy’ system, two players would be randomly paired before a match and basically they would become buddies with the ability to see where one-another are and share items like ammunition. You think that’s awesome? Check out the video below.

Part 5 ‘THE FINAL ASSAULT’ of our Critical Intel video series.

The final video in this series sees our Australian Warfighters “Rofo” and “Dog” put a group of chosen recruits through their paces at an intensive Tier 1 training day.

A group of recruits from the Australian gaming community were put to the test at an intensive Tier 1 training day lead by Australian Warfighters “Rofo” and “Dog”. With Dog’s’ speciality being a sniper and ‘Rofo’s’ an assaulter,  both men are highly trained special force operatives each having spent much time in the Australian army. During training recruits were taught the art of sniping and what it’s like to be sitting in a muddy ditch all day waiting patiently for the opportunity of an enemy to pop up their head – which unfortunately might never happen. They also experienced a dramatic hostage situation were multiple enemies needed to be disposed of, for the hostage to be rescued successfully.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter is looking out to be an amazing game! Like I mentioned earlier we’ve already had some hands on with the game’s multiplayer and it was so much fun, you can tell that the developers have spent a lot of  time focusing on the little details, trying to keep everything as realistic as possible. Now we just have to wait for the game to be officially released – 25th October 2012, PS3, Xbox360 & PC.
