All 18 members of the staff have been let go.
Reports have it, that today it was announced the Melbourne offices of THQ Asia- Pacific are scheduled to be closed down in the next couple of months. From now on THQ’s sales and distribution business will be handed over to a local sub-distributor known as ‘All Interactive Entertainment’
The Director of All Interactive Entertainment, Robert Kingston released the following statement:
“We are delighted to broaden our relationship with a top publisher such as THQ. We look forward to bringing THQ’s highly-anticipated new video game releases and existing game portfolio to our retail network in the territory.”
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened here in Australia, with SEGA also making the move to a more local sub-distributor, let’s just hope this doesn’t set a trend and other companies follow. Our hearts go out to those affected by this change, We personally know some truly awesome people who work at THQ ANZ and honestly there a great bunch of people!
